The Purpose of the Office of the Inspector of Custodial Service is to report to Parliament on the state of custodial places and services with the intention of:

  • Improving public confidence in the justice system;
  • Ensuring the decent treatment of detained people; and
  • Ensuring the justice system provides value for money.

Our Mission is to provide valuable advice that contributes to the overall development of custodial facilities and services in Western Australia.
