Roebourne Regional Prison was showing noticeable signs of improvement in many aspects of its operations, notwithstanding some longstanding infrastructure issues.

This report details the findings of our sixth inspection of Roebourne Regional Prison. The inspection took place in April 2016.  

The September 2013 inspection came at a time of mixed fortunes when an adjacent town work camp was shortly due for completion, but after the closure of DECCA, the Millstream Work Camp and the women’s unit.

The September 2010 inspection was the fifth undertaken at Roebourne due to its long-standing fragility in staffing, poor infrastructure, limited service provision and overcrowding.
