This report details the findings of our sixth announced inspection of Banksia Hill Detention Centre, conducted in September 2020. The centre had enjoyed its most settled period for many years, and detainee numbers were at a historic low.

This report relates to an inspection of Banksia Hill Detention Centre that took place in July 2017 in the wake of two major incidents in May 2017. It assesses the impact of those incidents, and the centre’s response. It also provides a broader assessment of the operation of the centre.
